Sharing Sharpness1

Culinary enthusiasts and professionals know a good, sharp knife is one of the most important tools in the kitchen.  Tojiro knives are renowned for their ability to make light work of slicing and dicing through prep work.  When you invest in a quality knife like Tojiro, caring for it is equally important, and the art of whetstone sharpening is the best way to maintain its razor-sharp edge.

In August we welcomed Tojiro’s International Brand Ambassador and Japanese Knife Expert Toru Kamoi to Australia once again.  In addition to demonstrating Japanese knife care and sharpening techniques at the Melbourne Gift Fair, to the delight of many, Kamoi-San also appeared at a number of events in Sydney and Melbourne.

In Sydney Kamoi-San did expert hands-on sharpening, care and cutting classes at two area retailers.  In Melbourne he was invited by the William Angliss Institute to discuss and demonstrate Japanese knives to 55 chefs-in-training and their instructors.  The response to these events was terrific.  These kinds of hands-on, interactive events are the best way to get consumers engaged with our brands, so if you’d like to have one at your store, let us know!
